There is a Nursary School on Skåtøy for 2 - 6 year olds. Six to thirteen year olds can also go to school on Skåtøy and Tåtøy. After school activities are to be found on both Skåtøy and Tåtøy. There is an active Parent Teacher Association.

Church (N). Skåtøy Church is situated in the center of Skåtøy, with Aasviks wharfe on the one side and Kirkebrygge on the other. The main thoroughfare goes past the church, 3 kilometers from the ferry landing stage. "Ankerplassen" (N) Jomfruland's outdoor church is shown in the illustration.

Jomfruland has the "Light House" Museum.

Communal Activity Buildings

Mellommyra Outdoor Activity Club (N). Summer pastimes: Football Field, Asphalt Open Court for tennis, volley, basket ball. . A Grass Playground for small children with a slide, swings, and sand pit. Skate board Ramp. Winter: The open court can be flooded to provide an open air skating rink. Ski jump facilities. A "Gamma" with an open fire place, and seating for 15 - 20 people.
